This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Business Operations Support (BOS) Section, General Services Unit. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Mission Support Assistant for the Domestic Division with responsibility for providing administrative support work relating to the coordination, resolution, and disposition of a variety of substantive actions and assignments essential to the direction and efficient operation of the Division.

Duties

As a Mission Support Assistant (OA), your typical work assignments may include: Providing technical assistance on all administrative functions including data processing, office automation, equipment and property accountability, logistics management including fleet, personal property (accountable and non-accountable), supply management, human resource liaison, records management, and task forces officer management. Supporting the staff and Division leadership by gathering data, establishing electronic files and databases, composing correspondence, and assisting with the preparation of reports and briefings on special projects. Working closely with management and Human Resources to assist in the preparation of personnel actions. Using multiple office automation software to prepare, revise or update existing databases, spreadsheets, and other edits for a variety of records.

Requirements

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. Applicants applying for the GS-6 must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-05 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative support functions to an office related to the operations of various programs, such as administrative, human resource liaison, internal control, logistics, fleet, personal property (accountable and non-accountable), supply management, quality assurance, records management, and Task Force management; 2) Performing a variety of routine clerical duties such as time and attendance management, preparation of correspondence, record-keeping, and maintenance of automated databases; and, 3) Assisting in the review and compliance with office procedures . Applicants applying for the GS-7 must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-06 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative support functions to an office related to the operations of various programs, such as administrative, human resource liaison, internal control, logistics, fleet, personal property (accountable and non-accountable), supply management, quality assurance, records management, and Task Force management; 2) Performing a variety of clerical duties related to data processing, travel, equipment and property accountability and maintenance, data processing, fleet management and maintenance, personal property (accountable and non-accountable), supply management, human resource liaison assistance, records management, and Task Force Office management; 3) Assisting in the review and update of office procedures; and, 4) Establishing, filing, and maintaining office records in accordance with regulations and procedures.
