Serves as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program Specialist. Incumbent reports to the Technical Operations, Technical Services Organization, Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Support Operations Group (EOSG), EOSH Support Center.
Duties
Analyzes jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the risks to employees. Recommends modifications to workplaces to control or eliminate hazards. Inspects or surveys workplaces for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential hazards. Reviews project plans and specifications for facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with established EOSH standards. Conducts occupational safety evaluation of hazardous conditions and develops recommendations for abatement.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- In IAW with PASS ATO CBA equal or lower pay band/level applications will be accepted
Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-I level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12. Specialized experience is experience in or related to safety and occupational health that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Presenting agency and locally developed safety and occupational health policy and programs to higher levels of management. Developing safety and occupational health standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards. Ability to independently manage multidisciplinary safety and environmental programs, including fall protection, electrical safety, indoor air quality, asbestos control and environmental impact studies. -4. Ability to deliver technical training with an emphasis on safety.

Security Requirement: Moderate Risk (5). This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation prior to appointment, unless a waiver is obtained. Subject to a 5 year period reinvestigation.
