This position is located in the Domestic Training Division, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center, Directorate of Training, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State. You will be responsible for Protective Security Operations Training Unit and as such, provide coordination and delivery of specialized security and law enforcement protective security training, education and orientation; and evaluate and recommend changes to established training curriculum and instructional methods.
Duties
Serves as an instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Protective Security Operations Training Unit (PRS) and provides coordination and delivery of specialized security and law enforcement protective security training.
Provides coordination and instruction for a wide range of training responsibilities for Special Agents covering a broad range of complex subjects within the domestic and foreign development curriculum.
Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of completed training course materials to ensure that training objectives have been met.
Recommends updates and revisions to policies and procedures as necessary that will enable DS Special Agents and others receiving PRS training to perform optimally, both domestically and abroad.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience planning and managing a protective security operations.
- Experience analyzing and evaluating training experiences to make appropriate changes in current training plans, methods and materials.
- Experience developing current protective security methods and procedures to provide support to protective security operations abroad and domestically.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
