You will serve as a Identification Resource Assistant (OA) in the Headquarters Battalion of HQTSBATTALION.
Duties
You will serve as an Identification Resources Assistant and perform a wide variety of procedural and substantive clerical duties in support of the identification card and the installation Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System. (DEERS)
You will review forms, documentation, and other related information from the active duty/ retired service members and dependents to process DEERS.
You will interview personnel completed files and records.
You will process actions, which involve unusual and complex procedural or substantive issues.
You will issue ID cars to eligible military personnel, dependents, and other authorized user.
You will operate a computer terminal to input and retrieve data from the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) that controls the medical database for DEERS.
You will interview personnel to obtain data needed to complete actions, or obtain data from previously completed files and records.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing a wide variety of procedural and substantive clerical duties, including verifying all information is accurate and correct and issuing ID cards to appropriate personnel.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
