You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Marine Depot Maintenance Command of MCLC ALBANY GA.
Duties
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the Safety Program and monitoring the Occupational Health Program.
You will assist in developing, updating and maintaining PPB Standing Operating Procedures.
You will advise shop supervisors and shop safety representatives of appropriate safety and occupational health measures to control or eliminate hazardous operating processes.
You will perform job site and work center inspections for safety and occupational hazards.
You will conduct surveys of work areas in order to determine and/or update requirements for personal protective clothing, equipment and other devices required to establish and maintain a safe work environment.
You will investigate lost time mishaps and reports of unsafe or unhealthful working conditions to determine causes and contributing factors.
You will investigate industrial, traffic, training and domestic accidents to determine causes, tracking statistical data to keep the safety supervisor apprised of current trends.
You will assist in conducting safety training for new employees, supervisors, and train personnel in certain areas required by ASHA, Department of the Navy, Marine Corps Directives and Base Orders as applicable to this installation.

Qualifications
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with planning and coordinating an Occupational Health Program; Performing inspections of job sites and work centers for safety and occupational hazards; Assisting with conducting safety training for an organization.
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and evaluating an Occupational Health Program, developing, updating, and maintaining program operating procedures and directives; Conducting surveys or work areas for safety and occupational hazards; Investigating mishaps and accidents to determine causes AND Conducting safety training for an organization.

GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
GS-09:master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
