You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the MARINE DEPOT MAINTENCE COMMAND of MCLC ALBANY GA.
Duties
You will assigned as responsible officer/program manager of; Operations Security, Antiterrorism and/or Physical Security
You will become highly familiar with all Safety related technical documents such as; Marine Corps orders (MCO), Code Of Federal Regulations (CFR) and International Standards for Organization (ISO).
You will serves as technical expert on related matters, advising top management, staff, operating officials and supervisors on principles and techniques of safety and occupational health management
You will draft safety related articles, presentations and briefs and be a skilled communicator able to provide hip- pocket briefs and/or formal briefs on the status of safety related programs/topics.
You will perform periodic onsite surveys for assigned organizations; inspects construction projects and designs to determine compliance with applicable occupational safety standards
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and adjusts short term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
You will identifies developmental and training needs of employees and provides for or arranges needed development and training.
You will ensure all program requirements imposed by higher echelons and/or regulatory agencies are met, including all inspection and reporting requirements.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must be willing and able to attend and complete (2) formal training courses supplied by the Marines Corps. Completion must occur in the first 90 days of employment. The courses are; Ground Safety for Marines and Mishap Investigation Course
- You must be willing and able to submit to a pre-employment physical exam prior to employment and annually.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- you must be willing and able to accept a supervisory position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: promoting the safety culture through educating coworkers and employees on the values and benefits of having a functional occupational health and safety system; to include developing , conducting, and evaluating various safety trainings with emphasis on work procedures and techniques.
