The position serves as the Director of Engineering in the Virginia Division of the Federal Highway Administration and is responsible for instituting and implementing a complex program to attain the Division goals and objectives, carrying out stewardship and oversight activities. The Director supervises a technical staff of professionals to assure the implementation of the Virginia Divisions goals and objectives for the programs and functions of the unit.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include: Experience performing program management principles and practices relating to Federal-aid surface transportation programs; AND Experience in providing program oversight and conducting process reviews and strategic planning, specifically, experience working with the Strategic Plan, Strategic Implementation Plan, Unit Plan, and program and risk assessment process.
