Duties

Trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building. Trains team members to accomplish tasks or projects. Oversees the development of and providing direction for new Kitting activities. Research various information sources to determine whether there is an existing kit or whether the kit is feasible before establishing a new kit. Identifies the need for kits based on inputs from the customer, Order Fulfillment (Customer Account Specialists or Prime Vendor Business Logistics). Provides the comparative analysis, and the decision on whether the kit should be assembled organically or commercially to the customer, based upon analysis of products (e.g. item characteristics, availability, etc.) - -customer and their requirements, and vendor's capabilities, component availability, cost factors, configuration factors, Distribution Depot's capabilities, and workload to meet the customer's Kitting requirements including the delivery timeframe. Conducts independent analysis and investigation of issues impacting the Kitting process. Hands on experience of Enterprise Business Systems and Kitting Systems. Provides advice to operating or management officials on policy interpretation or development. Prepares briefing materials including background information, recommendations, statistical data, charts, and graphs.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead Kitting Strategic Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Knowledge related to the Enterprise Kitting IPT and/or DLA Distribution for issues and updates. Developing yearly statement for planning and execution of workload. Communicating with multiple levels of in the organization, as well as external customers and vendors. Serving as IST Chief or team lead Training subordinates on system changes Producing evidentiary documentation in accordance with Audit Readiness. Having experience to lead a team, as a Team Leader Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
