About the Position: This position serves as an Installation Emergency Management (EM) Planning Specialist responsible for planning, formulating, coordinating Emergency Management support operations with local, state, and federal agencies/Army Commands (ACOM), and tenant units at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Plan, formulate, and coordinate emergency management support operations with local, state, and federal agencies/Army Commands (ACOM), and tenant units. Develop documentation essential to the execution of diverse operational plans for exercises, real world missions, incidents, and events ensuring compliance with governing regulations, and directives. Serve as Incident Command System (ICS) specialized staff officer for the Fort Liberty Crisis Action Team (CAT) specifically focused on managing crises and their impact on installation mission execution. Coordinate, plan, and manage the Installations 3-year recurring Training and Exercise Schedule for major events and All Hazard training exercises. Provide National Incident Management System (NIMS) core curriculum courses comprised of Intermediate Incident Command System (ICS)-300 and Advanced ICS 400 courses to local and state agencies, and Fort Liberty ACOM, and tenant unit personnel. Support the Installations Anti-Terrorism and Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Managers with updates to plans, assessments, and working groups to include the Fort Liberty Emergency Management Response plan. Responsible for training and administrative duties on current Program of Record for Common Operation Picture/Common Information Picture (COP/CIP).

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Position requires occasional TDY travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must complete training in National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) within one year.
  • Must complete Operations Security (OPSEC) Level II course within one year.
  • Must complete Antiterrorism Level II Basic Course within one year.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • This position requires the employee to work atypical work hours, such as shift work, weekends, etc to meet mission requirements.
