About the position: This position will be assigned to the 30 FSS/Community Services Flight Pacific Coast Center.
Physical Effort: Requires walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing 5-15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10-20 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs, are usually transported with the aid of a dolly.
Duties
Operates a full-service bar.
Responsible for the proper operation of the bar, receipts, and inventory accountability.
Mixes and serves all types of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes for beverages for which no pre-mix is available.
Delivers drinks to bar waiters or serves directly to patrons.
Washes glasses and other bar equipment.
Prepares garnishes for mixed drinks.
May help stock service bar or portable bar for catered functions.
Accepts money, operates a cash register, and makes change.
May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has requirements which must be met prior to employment, and conditions for continued employment.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement of 21 years of age for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of a wide variety of beverages and ability to combine ingredients.
Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed.
Must be able to follow cash handling procedures.
Must be physically able to frequently lift objects, pull and push objects.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
Must be able to communicate clearly and possess skill in dealing with public.
Must satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
