About the Position: Serves as Chief, Management Integration Office, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL), U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). This position is being filled as a Supervisory Interdisciplinary DJ-04 (GS-13/14), which may be filled under any of the listed Job Family Series. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Serves as Chief, Management Integration Office. Proposes improvements for complex procedures across organization. Drives decisions on training needs for employees. Promotes team building to improve business practices. Presents efficient business processes to senior staff to support mission effectiveness. Identifies solutions to budget shortages.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• Appointment requires one-year supervisory probationary period unless previously completed.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: To qualify for DJ-04 (GS-13/14) grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the DJ-03 (GS-12) level in Federal service which includes: 1) Operating administrative systems to prevent misappropriation of assets; 2) Assuming responsibility for employees under current supervision; and 3) Partnering with chain of command to validate effective business processes. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DJ-04 (equivalent to GS-13/14). In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, an employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume.
