The Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) mission is to accelerate the adoption of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) across the Department of Defense (DoD). The CDAO works across the Military Departments and Services, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands (CCMD), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other DoD Components to design, develop, field, and scale technologies, capabilities, strategies, policies, and other guidance related to data, analytics, and AI.
Duties
Supervises military (up to O-5) and civilian (up to GS/GG-14) personnel supporting the secure delivery of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics enabled capabilities to Combatant Commands, the Joint Staff, Service components, and Principal Staff Assistance within the DoD.
Develops cyberspace plans, strategy, and policy to support and align with organizational cyberspace missions and initiatives.
Produces timely bulletins and presentations on both established cybersecurity best practices and emerging cyber threats to inform and prepare the CDAO community.
Responsible for leading and coordination of the conducting comprehensive systems analysis of the management, operational, and technical security environment of the target application, system, environment and/or capability, focused on the identification of the risk posture, in both the Operational use case and the Enterprise data environment.
Responsible for the leadership of the analysis of the threat environment, access vectors, and potential risks associated with the mission execution and data integrity as they inform the holistic risk posture perspective.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service- developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication- briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience assisting in the development of cyberspace plans, strategies, and policies to support organizational missions; analyzing data, architecture and other data protection requirements and operational environments, and identifying threats, risks and potential impacts to cybersecurity platforms as they relate to the organizational mission.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-15 grade level.
