About the Position: This position is with the Department of Defense Education Activity in the Pacific West District and is part of the U.S. Naval Hospital Schools Community. This position is covered by the FEA-SR Classified Federal Education Association Stateside Region bargaining unit. Federal employees in Guam are currently entitled to receive a 12.04% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. (Rate is subject to change.)

Duties

Utilize supply and logistic support systems for management of supply records. Verify and record serial numbers upon receipt of goods. Assure school support requirements are prepared, edited, and submitted for the purchase of supplies and equipment. Serve as property custodian maintaining a perpetual inventory of nonexpendable property and supply records for durable items in the school. Assist in monitoring the school safety and security programs to ensure compliance with program requirements. Assist Area and District personnel with physical security inspections to ensure adequate security measures are in place and adhered to. Assure all supply transactions are recorded in an automated system. Sets or revises stock levels for authorized items available through the supply system for school stockage.

Requirements

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining inventory records, processing work requests of equipment for maintenance or repair, and preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. GS-06 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). GS-05: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) positions within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks.
