This position is located in the Departmental Office of Human Resource Management, Workforce Quality Division, Office of the Secretary (OST) and the incumbent serves as a Program Specialist, responsible for managing and administering a wide variety of programs and events in the Departmental Work-Life and Special Programs Office.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include: Experience in large scale event coordination. Experience interpreting policy and program guidelines, and providing recommendations for large scale events and Work-Life and Wellness programs. Experience in editing official correspondence, marketing materials, and reports for senior level leadership. To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include: Experience in large scale event management. Experience drafting and interpreting policy and program guidelines, and providing recommendations for large scale events and Work-Life and Wellness programs. Experience in drafting and editing official correspondence, marketing materials, and reports for senior level leadership. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Planning and Evaluating - Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. Written Communication - Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Interpersonal Skills - Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences.
