As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the total functions and directing the performance of the environmental program to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of program priorities, milestones, goals and objectives.Location of Position: Public Buildings Service, Region 5, Facilities Management and Services Programs.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
This position is located in the Public Buildings Service, Facilities Management and Services Programs. The Facilities Management & Services Programs Division oversees regional programs related to the management and operation of space under the jurisdiction, custody, or control of the Public Buildings Service (PBS), both federally-owned and leased.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $103,409 per year. Salary is determined by the location for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience utilizing environmental protection laws, regulations, methodologies and/or policies to provide technical guidance. Examples include: furnishing written instructions, answering questions from regional workforce on procedures, policies, and directives, and reviewing overall operations to determine operational problems, and to determine and implement changes necessary to meet long-range objectives on all issues related to the implementation, findings and mitigations. This experience should include:
Providing oversight and ensuring consistent and compliant implementation of environmental protection policies and requirements.
Reviewing environmental protection reports or papers such as Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
