Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Information Technology support for the Northern District of Oklahoma. Typical work assignments will include:
Maintaining network, architecture, and infrastructure.
Configuring, installing, and maintaining servers, routers, network, and mobile hardware-based systems.
Resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Optimizing system performance and identifying components to improve overall systems performance.
Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
Monitoring internet service functionality, security, and integrity; managing internet servers.
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software.
Providing customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements.
Providing user training and assistance on a variety of routine applications.

Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualifications
GS-11: To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet education or experience requirements below:
Education: Ph.D. degree or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
Specialized experience: In order to qualify for the GS-11 position, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience includes providing Information Technology technical and analytical assistance. Examples of specialized experience include providing IT customer support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; providing user training and assistance on a variety of routine applications; installing and configuring new or modified hardware and operating systems and applicable software; and assisting in network monitoring and management for organization-wide account maintenance and software/hardware updates.

In addition to the specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
GS-12: To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the experience requirements below:
Specialized experience: In order to qualify for the GS-12 position, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience includes performing configuration, installation, or management of network systems; installing Windows-based servers and maintaining existing servers; establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance; performing network diagnostics and resolving network problems; maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; installing and maintaining compatible database systems.

In addition to the specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
