This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Policy and Programs Group, Division of Stakeholder Engagement and Policy. As a Writer/Editor, GS-1082-13, you will lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of program and policy communications.

Duties

Leads in preparing tactical communications plans to provide information and promote awareness of new and existing payment models. Develops and presents digital (web-based and listserv), printed, and audiovisual materials for technical and lay audiences, journals, and Internet and other mass media outlets. Drafts letters, fact sheets, media relations materials, social media and other documents for new and existing payment models. Advises colleagues and leadership on appropriate communications strategy and messaging for achieving desired outcome/impact, while also accounting for potential risk. Supports strategic plans to achieve health communication and outreach goals and objectives.

Drafting content to communicate health care information to a variety of audiences (e.g. media outlets, health care professionals and academic researchers). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
