This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of External Affairs. As a Lead Public Affairs Specialist, you will lead the design and execution of DFC's marketing and digital media strategy, including brand management, the development of core informational products and marketing material, production of multimedia stories, and management of DFC's digital channels, including social media, website, and email marketing.
Duties
As a Lead Public Affairs Specialist (Marketing and Digital Media Director), you will:
Serve as the team lead for a group of communications professionals responsible for executing the agency's marketing and digital media strategy.
Lead the development of talking points, briefing memos, collateral/marketing material, briefing decks, and other digital communications.
Provide guidance and mentorship to the agency's Marketing and Digital Media section, senior leaders, and stakeholders across the organization.
Manage the agency's digital presence, including website and social media channels, to ensure they reflect the organization's mission and priorities.
Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
Monitor marketing and digital media trends to identify potential risks and opportunities, providing timely insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Deploy expertise in monitoring and analyzing national and international digital media trends to inform the agency's digital strategy in relation to its overarching communications strategy.
Perform editorial review of written material and products developed throughout the agency to ensure the message aligns with the agency's strategic priorities before release to the public.

Qualifications
Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.
TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to:
1) Lead for a group of communications professionals responsible for executing an organization's marketing and digital media strategy.
2) Manage an organization's digital presence, including website and social media channels, to ensure they reflect the organization's mission and priorities.
3) Monitor and analyze national and international digital media trends to make informative recommendations to the organization's digital strategy in relation to its overarching communications strategy.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
