You will serve as a Staff Assistant to the Office of Operations and provide administrative and secretarial support for the Office’s service-oriented Teams. As staff assistant, you will be responsible for assisting and ensuring the work of the Office and Teams is coordinated, deadlines are met, and the finished products reflect established standards and appropriate clearances. You will work on a wide variety of special projects for the Office of Operations.

Qualifications

For the GS-08: You must have at least one year of experience, equal or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which included:
Experience coordinating administrative activities such as appointment scheduling, processing correspondence, proofreading documents, arranging travel, procuring supplies, filing and/or record keeping, and distributing information with minimum supervision, while ensuring timely completion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Office support - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Administrative management - Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms.
Interpersonal Skills – Ability to interact and communicate with management and staff members.
Communication Skills – Written and verbal communication.
