AGI serves as the primary point of contact for Members of Congress and congressional staff for all FAA issues and inquiries. The office also coordinates with the Department of Transportation's Office of Governmental Affairs to ensure our work is consistent with the Department's policies. The incumbent of this position is a Congressional Liaison Specialist.

Duties

The Office of Government and Industry Affairs (AGI) is the principal advisor to the Administrator and FAA Lines of Business/Staff Offices on all matters concerning Congress, aviation industry groups, and other governmental organizations.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • The duties cannot be performed remotely.
  • This vacancy is not open to Veterans' Recruitment Act (VRA) applicants.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience is defined as: Experience working with Congressional Members and staff, as well as Federal, state, and local officials. AND Experience providing analytical support and representation for the organization or agency's Congressional relations and legislative programs.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
