About the Position: This is a permanent Traffic Management Specialist (Joint Operations, Planning, and Execution System) position with Army Central, G4 Mobility Operations Section, Shaw AFB, SC.
Duties
Provides transportation and traffic management technical advice guidance, direction and input for the worldwide movement of Army units (active and reserve) in support of contingency plans, joint maneuvers, exercises.
Participates in the review and coordination transportation management actions pertaining to use of JOPES, SMS, Transportation Coordinator Automated Information Management System, Global Command Control Communications system (GCCS).
As a senior-level USARCENT Transportation Specialist, incumbent manages and reviews multiple movements in support of military operations and training exercises.
Develops, implements, and updates a training program for newly assigned personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Temporary duty (TDY) up to 50% of the time required.

- Must successfully complete the Joint Operations, Planning and Execution System (JOPES) course within six months of appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) execution to support worldwide movement of units; 2) providing transportation and traffic management technical advice and guidance, monitors airfield statuses, and Inter Theater airlift operations; 3) managing movement planning, programming, and coordination; AND 4) conducting analysis and evaluations on transportation requirements with the use of Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES.) This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
