The Asset Forfeiture Management Staff (AFMS) of the Justice Management Division is responsible for the administrative management functions of the Asset Forfeiture Program (AFP) in the Department of Justice. The AFP encompasses activities associated with seizure, management, forfeiture, and disposal of properties and assets of all types held by individuals, businesses, and criminal enterprises and used in the commission of Federal crimes in the United States and in other countries.

The major duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Serve as the Deputy Director and is responsible for managing, monitoring, and evaluating the Asset Forfeiture Program. * Develop, maintain, revise and oversee the implementation of a strategic plan that supports the accomplishment of AFMS mission goals. * Serve as an advisor on issues related to program planning and policy. * Perform human resource management functions.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
  • You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Deputy Director at (GS-0301-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). Specialized Experience GS-15: To qualify for this position you must have one year of specialize experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band, which includes: managing, monitoring, and evaluating mandatory funds; utilizing an electronic database to oversees budget and operations for an organization; and overseeing contracts related to program management and IT infrastructure. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 09/23/2024.
