Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Assets and Facilities Management, in Washington, District of Columbia.
This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Requirements

- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Incumbent will be required to maintain a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
- If not in possession of the certification at time of hire, incumbent is required to earn the credential within one year of onboarding date.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Developing safety and occupational health policies, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards.
Implementing programs designed to eliminate or minimize injury/illness, property damage and productivity losses.
Performing accident investigation and reporting, data analysis to determine frequency and severity rates, root cause analysis, trend identification and intervention effectiveness.
Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions, developing measures to eliminate or control these conditions and effectively communicating the appropriate measures to resolve these problems.
Performing/Approving risk assessments of hazardous processes, determining risk severity and making recommendations for risk mitigation.
