THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY SYSTEMS ANALYST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5698000 and is part of the NC USPFO, National Guard (USPFONC-SSD-MPM / MD 162B-711). ******Primary purpose of this position is to perform developmental assignments to 07/09*****

Duties

As a SUPPLY SYSTEMS ANALYST, GS-2003-07/09, The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supply Systems Analyst in a developmental capacity. you will perform developmental assignments of moderate difficulty where work procedures are established, and a number of specific guidelines exist; work assignments consisting of a series of specific and related tasks have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic Supply principles, concepts, and techniques; assignments are combined with training to further develop analytical skills and techniques as a Supply Systems Analyst; assistance in solving problems is available from the supervisor or a higher-graded specialist; perform recurring assignments; independently perform recurring assignments of limited, but gradually increasing, difficulty and complexity; employee is responsible for locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines and procedures for application and making minor deviations to adapt the guidelines to specific cases.; analyze routine problems that are encountered and resolves them; refer deviation, problems, and unfamiliar situations to the supervisor for assistance; participate in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Works with other specialists in planning and conducting special initiatives, studies, and projects; assist in preparing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendations; prepare written correspondence and other documentation; draft or prepare a variety of documents to include newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other related documents; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Position is Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration, designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-07 Must have 12 months) experience, education, or training in researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply functions, cataloging, maintenance and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. (GS-09 Must have 24 months) experience, education, or training dealing with cost estimates, budgets or funding management. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support.
