You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (CAT III &IV) for the NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will create documents using AutoCAD and other business and engineering related products. You will coordinate efforts of organizational elements to ensure project progress. You will discuss assignments with others to accomplish work-related activities. You will determine quality assurance or support documentation necessary to execute the job.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1)Planning and estimating labor and materials for construction or maintenance and repair work; 2) Preparing technical documents such as drawings, sketches, operating procedures, specifications, and/or material take-offs; 3) Conducting condition inspections of various types of facilities, structures, or utilities; 4) Coordinating work to ensure projects comply with applicable requirements. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as:

  • Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes.
  • Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated.
OR

Engineering technicians may be certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers. Certification by the Institute will be helpful as a measure of the technician's quality of experience.
