This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Assist journey-level workers constructing and repairing a wide variety of carpentry and masonry duties.
Prepare surfaces for painting such as applying preservatives, primers, sealers, and finish coatings; paint all surfaces after repair, matching to existing surfaces primarily to ensure adequate protection.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker Helper~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common painting and masonry duties using hand and power tools such as tapes, rulers, hacksaws, drill motors, roller brushes, ladders, and scrapers. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Efforts: Required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and climb for sustained periods of time. Frequentlyhandles objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally is required to carry heavier objects.
Working Conditions: Works on dirty greasy equipment in cramped quarters both indoors and out in all types of weather on slippery or uneven surfaces. Exposed to excessive noise and possibility of cuts and bruises from moving parts, sharp edges and power tools. Required wearing protective safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, and respirator. May be required to work in asbestos contaminated areas.
