About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Product Assurance, Quality Control Division, at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Duties
Apply electronic principles in performance of quality programs.
Monitor disposition of corrective actions to provide management.
Comply with established safety rules and regulations.
Perform soldering techniques with compliance of standard operating procedures.
Inspect team performance of soldering work to ensure requirements are met.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain Instructor certification(s) for Soldering Operations in accordance with IPC J-STD standards.
- Occasional traveling may be required to attend workshops, training, or seminars (less than 10%).
- This position requires incumbent to agree to a 2-year Continued Service Agreement upon completion of IPC J-STD-001 certification(s).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) conducting quality control on electronic components or repair operations; assisting with soldering operations to assemble manufacturing components; and 3) verifying statements of work in compliance with acceptance procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
