This position is in the U.S. Department of Education, Office of the Secretary, White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Native Americans and Strengthening Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). The Initiative serves to represent tribal governments and communities and strengthens the nation by expanding educational opportunities and improving educational outcomes for all Native American students. 

Duties

Requirements

  • Relocation will not be paid.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-14, if you possess the specialized experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-14 One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-13 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments: Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with senior leaderships, Native American tribes, and public interest organizations to accomplish common goals and resolve resource issues. Experience communicating either written and/or verbally to collaborate and interact with senior leaderships, Native American tribes, and public interest organizations. Experience facilitating agreement between tribal and non-tribal agencies on issues pertaining to Native American educational programs conducted on and/or near tribal lands. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). You do not need to provide separate narrative responses to these KSAs, as they will be measured by your responses to the occupational questionnaire (you may preview the occupational questionnaire by clicking the link at the end of the Evaluations section of this vacancy announcement). 1. Knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, and methods applicable to the program(s) to provide authoritative advice and develop new approaches. 2. Knowledge in planning, organizing, directing work and interfacing between strategic planning and effective business practices. 3. Ability to organize and communicate ideas effectively through written correspondence and oral presentations.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position and grade level.
