About the Position: The incumbent will functions as the primary administrative liaison between the Operations Project Manager and the staff, providing support to the project office, performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the multifunctional Operations Mission.
Duties
Plan work and establish schedules to meet priorities and suspense dates.
Oversee the work of two or three administrative personnel and plan the work of the section, distributes work, and ensures quantity and quality of work performed.
Schedule and arrange appointments and conference meetings.
Determine the nature of requests and directs inquiries to appropriate staff, or personally provides the information.
Ensure requisitions for office supplies, equipment, and publications.
Maintain files and records related to work.
Serve as point of contact between various offices.
Receive incoming correspondence, screening material prior to distribution for suspense dates, establishing controls, and following up with supervisor.
Compose complex reports and correspondence related to administrative and budgetary matters.
Monitor and track obligations, expenditures, and flow of funds throughout the execution phase.
Perform or oversee a variety of administrative support duties, such as making extensive travel arrangements, composing complex but non-technical correspondence.
Perform routine budget administration functions.
Respond to routine and non-technical requests.
Locate and assemble information for various reports, designing and organizing filing systems, and organizing the flow of clerical processes throughout the office.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty travel of 10% of the time is required.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.

Minimum Requirements for GS-303-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Review accounting data for accuracy, 2) Assist with administrative support duties such as: making travel arrangements, scheduling conferences, draft correspondences/reports, maintain files, and timekeeping, and/or 3) Provide customer service to office personnel and visitors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06)
Minimum Requirements for GS-303-08:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Review accounting data for accuracy, prepare budget estimates, and/or calculate allotments of funding for the office, 2) Plan work and oversee a variety of administrative support duties such as: making travel arrangements, scheduling conferences, draft correspondences/reports, maintain files, and timekeeping, 3) Serve as the point of contact between various offices in relation to administrative matters, and/or 4) Provide customer service to office personnel and visitors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-303-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-303-08: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
