Duties
Summary: The primary purpose of this position is provide program management support for all aspects of Student Services supporting the Dean, 3 Associate Deans. 4 department directors. and 35 course directors, and over 25,000 students, and be an integral part of a wide variety of Master's Degrees programs and an array of other program offerings supporting lifelong learning produced by the Air Force's Air Command and Staff College's (ACSC) eSchool of Graduate Professional Military Education (PME).
Duties:
Student Curriculum Advisor.
Student Support Specialist.
Develops training materials on electronic online campus.
Develops and manages various databases for effective compilation of data.
Monitors and analyzes effectiveness of Distance Learning and directed programs in accomplishing the overall distance Learning mission of Graduate PME.
Reviews established instructions, policies and procedures to determine overall adequacy and conformance to established program directives.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of the curriculum and course offerings of current and historic Professional Military Education (PME) offerings, technical aspects of the multiple electronic online campuses and student management systems across the spectrum of officer developmental learning; knowledge and skill in applying an extensive body of standard and often ambiguous rule sets and procedures that can only be gained through experience and/or extended training; extensive knowledge of supporting database management systems to make timely and exacting updates to data points affecting student actions and career-impacting decision making; knowledge and skill to plan, organize, and control all elements of the design of the computer programs required to execute the mission
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
I. Strong knowledge of PME learning continuum, including historic offerings, and what is required to meet professional educational objectives at rank levels O-1 through O-6 and civilian equivalents.
2. Strong knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of an educational technologist.
3. Knowledge and skill to develop methods to gather, compile, and analyze information.
4. Knowledge and skill to serve as a primary consultant and troubleshooter for the electronic online campus and student management system programs.
5. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant contributing factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize, propose, and implement solutions.
6. Ability to develop plans and organize work tasks for multiple programs.
7. Ability to plan and organize work and consult effectively with co-workers and superiors.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
