About the Position: This position is located at the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital under the Defense Health Agency (DHA).

Duties

Oversee the administrative and procedural aspects of the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) for the Military Treatment Facility (MTF). Serve as the Special Needs Advisor (SNA) to assist with solider assignment coordination functions and issues involving family members with special health care needs. Coordinate on all queries regarding the availability of accessible health care for Exceptional Family Members. Instruct providers, staff, and other concerned parties or agencies on EFMP program policy. Assist sponsors and their family members on services needed to assist with special educational, therapeutic, rehabilitative, or other needs

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in a medical treatment facility which includes performing administrative task such as obtaining medical information from patient and/or family to identify requirement for special medical and educational services; screening the medical record to evaluate and validate eligibility of medical and educational needs; and documenting patient encounter in an electronic health record. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Special Education, Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, and Human Development. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServicePlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
