This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance - Office of Financial Research. As a/an Senior Advisor To The OFR Director, you will report to the OFR Director and serve as a key senior analyst and advisor, providing expert level advice, guidance, and support on mission-critical initiatives, issues, and functions affecting domestic finance and economic policy activities. .
Duties
As a Senior Advisor To The OFR Director, you will:
Establish and maintain communication between the OFR and Treasury, the Congress, and various other internal or external audiences.
Advise management on legislative and Congressional issues, including legislation that may significantly impact the existence of the Office of Financial Research, its budget, and/or its ability to perform its mission as established by Congress under the Dodd/Frank Act of 2010, to share financial data across the federal government in an effort to protect the public from financial threats and crises.
Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement conferences, including the Financial Research Advisory Committee conferences, and special projects with all OFR divisions.
Independently plan, schedule, and carry out major projects concerned with the analysis of programs, organizational effectiveness, or any issues deemed by the incumbent and/or the OFR Director to be of importance.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the OR-70 (GS-15 equivalent): You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the OR-60 (GS-14 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
- Experience serving as a principal advisor to a senior management official; AND
- Experience leading and/or conducting studies and analyses; AND
- Experience researching and writing in-depth material such as briefs, memos, reports, speeches, or presentations; AND
- Demonstrated experience with establishing and maintaining communication between an Office, the Department of Treasury, the Congress, and other internal and external audiences; AND
- Demonstrated experience with building relationships, negotiating, and resolving issues and concerns.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
