MCC is seeking a Web Content Strategist and Manager and contributor with a strong, deep and detailed understanding of HTML and how to appropriately markup text, pictures, charts, graphs, data, microcopy and metadata using HTML in a semantically correct way.
This position is located in the Department of Congressional and Public Affairs, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
MCC uses a pay banded system to compensate employees. This position is Pay Band 4B which is generally equal to GS-12.
Duties
As the Web Content Strategist and Manager, you will be responsible for planning, developing, executing and maintaining content for MCC's public website. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts throughout MCC as part of the Creative Services team within CPA. Typical work assignments include:
ensuring that the website's content remains up to date by establishing, coordinating and managing a web content maintenance plan which defines and outlines a schedule for the regular review of website content.
establishing, coordinating and managing a web content archiving plan, establishing an editorial calendar to maximize exposure of web content and tracking MCC guidance, practices, decisions and exemptions related to posting of web content.
working collaboratively with staff to conceptualize, develop, post and maintain strategic and routine web content that describes MCC's programs and initiatives and supports MCC's communications campaigns, public events and federal website requirements.
translate complex tabular data and related concepts into appropriate visual representations like data visualizations, infographics or diagrams using standards-based web technologies when doing so will make user comprehension of content easier.
keeping current with emerging web technologies, HTML markup standards and web content trends to ensure that MCC's web content adheres to those standards and remains compliant.
writing new and maintaining existing training materials and instructional resources for posting content to the public website and conducting training sessions for MCC staff who are provided user accounts for posting content to MCC's website.
applying best-practice processes, practices, workflows and technical solutions related to preparing, posting and maintaining content for websites.
managing existing or creating new publishing workflows for MCC's website based on those practices suggesting and creating new processes, practices and technical solutions to enhance content maintenance processes, workflows and productivity when necessary.
tracking and reporting site metrics on a monthly basis to help MCC determine where to focus resources to expand existing website content, remove unused website content, create new website content and apply best practice SEO techniques to content.
performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Relocation expenses will not be paid
- More than 1 job may be filled if additional vacancies occur within 120 days
- Some domestic and international travel may be required
Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing website content in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Demonstrated experience in website content creation, including text, pictures, charts, graphs, data, microcopy and metadata.
Demonstrated experience using the Decap content management system
To qualify for Pay Band 4B applicants must also meet the following:
Have at least one year of specialized experience relevant to the position duties and comparable to the MCC Pay Band 4C (GS-11) or an equivalent level which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: planning, developing, executing and maintaining content for an organization's public website; using HTML to markup text, pictures, charts, graphs, data, microcopy and metadata; establishing, coordinating and managing a web content maintenance plan which defines and outlines a schedule for the regular review of website content; translating complex tabular data and related concepts into appropriate visual representations like data visualizations, infographics or diagrams using standards-based web technologies; writing and updating training materials and instructional resources for posting content and conducts training sessions; and tracking and reporting site metrics. Note: This experience MUST be well documented within your resume or application.
