Duties
You will operate, oversee and maintain the Defense Travel System and be an expert in the transportation field and travel regulations by providing assistance to travelers regarding travel regulations and entitlements.
You will create preliminary travel cost estimates for all civilian Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders and ensures compliance with all travel regulations when preparing the travel authorizations outside of DTS for civilian moves.
You will independently generate complex reports, analyze, review and initiate actions IAW policies and regulations regarding misuse, abuse or
delinquency of the travel card.
You will respond to all data requests, audit any inquiries from these commands, update command instructions, handbooks, worksheets forms, manuals and the TSO website, prepare weekly and monthly command travel reports and situational reports.
You will provide work assignments, training and oversee daily work of TSO employees, act as a mentor to TSO employees, create travel training programs and provide classroom and virtual training to travelers, AOs and Travel Support Clerks.
Requirements

- Generally, current Federal employees applying to STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and documented in your resume.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or NO-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing Defense Travel System (DTS) documents for compliance with regulations, managing a government travel card program, and preparing civilian PCS orders.
