You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (EEO) DEPARTMENT of NAVAL INFORMATION WARFARE SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will serve as the full time EEO Specialist assigned to the EEO Office and may be involved in all aspects of the NAVWAR EEO Program. You will serve as the senior functional expert in the area of EEO Complaints Processing and Management, providing case management services for NAVWAR in compliance with EEOC and DON requirements. You will use internal and external databases and spreadsheets to monitor, track, analyze and report on both informal and formal complaints of discrimination processing throughout the NAVWAR enterprise. You will process informal and formal EEO complaints to include, but not limited to, conducting EEO counseling, drafting correspondence, coordinating investigating, reviewing documents, and preparing and forwarding case files for final dispositions. You will serve as the senior functional expert in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for use in the EEO complaint process. You will ensure compliance with directives from the DON ADR Program and coordinate ADR sessions for service commands.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or (GP-02) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducted Equal Employment Opportunity Counseling and processed informal (pre-complaints) of discrimination; Processed formal EEO discrimination complaints; convened and utilized alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods to resolve disputes/complaints; Provided advice and guidance, managers, supervisors, and employees on Equal Employment Opportunity; Developed and executed trainings and/or briefings on a variety of EEO topics.
