The position is telework eligible consistent with the Agency’s telework and remote work program policy.This position is located in the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Communications and Outreach (OCO), within the Press and Customer Relations Division. OCO is responsible for overall leadership for the Department of Education in its communications and outreach activities.
Duties

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification RequirementsYou may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-14, if you possess the specialize experience, education, or a combination of the two.Specialized Experience for the GS-14One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-13 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1. Experience in leading and conducting continuous assessments of team functions or processes, in order to effectively direct and coordinate communications and/or customer relations programs. 2. Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships in oral, written, and/or visual communications in order to develop products to advise and consult a variety of audiences.3. Experience with outreach and communications practices and data systems development and usage, with special emphasis on scheduling, integration, and reporting.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). You do not need to provide separate narrative responses to these KSAs, as they will be measured by your responses to the occupational questionnaire (you may preview the occupational questionnaire by clicking the link at the end of the Evaluations section of this vacancy announcement).1. Knowledge of management principles and practices to effectively direct and coordinate communication and outreach programs.2. Skilled in establishing effective relationships with a variety of organizations through oral, written, and visual communications.3. Knowledge of various communication strategies and practices including call centers, social media, web, and publications.4. Knowledge of data systems development and usage with special emphasis on scheduling, integration, and reporting.
