This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Eighth Coast Guard District, Reserve Force Readiness Staff, in New Orleans, LA.
Duties
This position's primary purpose is to serve as the Program Support Assistant, performing administrative and accounting practices and procedures duties.

- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
Qualifications
GS-7: To be qualified at the GS-7 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level GS-06 in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Some examples of specialized experience are responding to requests from the public; using effective interpersonal skills when working with others; utilizing various software to develop and update databases and run reports; maintaining tracking systems; and preparing supervisor's travel schedule. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
