You will serve as a TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER SPECIALIST in the Office of Research and Innovation Emerging Technology and Innovation Office of NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL.
Duties
You will develop and promote key partnerships necessary for technology transition and transfer.
You will negotiate, draft, review and/or edit agreements and any other required associated documents.
You will identify and assess potential technologies and ideas at NPS that may be transferred to state and local governments, industry, or universities.
You will coordinate with NPS legal to support patent application/submission process.
You will set both short-term and long-term goals and objectives and will be accountable for the outcomes and results of the NPS Technology Transfer Program.
You will serve as the NPS Office of Research and Technology Applicant (ORTA) representative.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing partnerships with external organizations; 2) Applying knowledge of federal legislation, Executive Orders and regulations governing patents, and technology transfers in determining the appropriate agreement to achieve the goal of the proposed activity; 3) Developing and implementing technology transfer mechanisms in accordance with established policies and procedures; 4) Analyzing program details to present facts and recommendations both orally and in writing to leadership.
