Duties

Organizes, schedules, hosts, analyzes and evaluates Onboarding Training course for new AF/A5/7 team members and Team Leader/Coach Training for our Team Leader/Coaches. Serves as the Unit Training Manager for the Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Force Futures. Identifies, manages and communicates with inbound Air Force Futures members. Facilitates, coordinates and manages interpersonal temperament assessments for AF/A5 new and existing members. Coordinates and streamlines training sessions, symposiums, working groups and conferences Air Force Futures members and Centers attend and/or host.

  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours
  • Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

  • Position is designated Special Sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug testing. This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program
  • Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety
  • It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs, and (b) if requested, submit to the urinalysis testing
  • This is a centrally managed position

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) in depth knowledge of the mission, operating programs, and organizational structure of the training program's functional community for AF/A5/7; (2) Expert knowledge of a wide range of qualitative or quantitative methods to improve complex management processes and systems or program effectiveness; (3) Comprehensive knowledge of policies, concepts, and procedures affecting the Air Force's functions in order to effectively administer assigned programs in support of the staffing and career development of career program positions and employees; and (4) Wide ranging knowledge of DoD and Department of the Air Force concepts, laws, principles, practices, procedures, and standards as they apply to the functional career field at all organizational levels within the Air Force. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, practices, mission and organizational structure of the specific career program functional field to effectively carry out career management responsibilities. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, principles, and practices of civilian career management. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound problem solving decisions. Ability to provide guidance and counseling to career field employees and managers. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work. Ability to prepare special studies and staff reports, including the ability to meet emergency and/or changing program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
