About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services - Physical Security Division on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Provide command and control during critical incidents pertaining to access control points. Conduct a detailed and comprehensive review of guard duty rosters noting all deficiencies in post manning to provide adequate security coverage. Set employee standards for performance and prepares performance evaluations based on employee compliance. Recommend promotions, reassignments, adverse actions, and sustained or outstanding performance awards. Prepare management reports as required, administers the annual and sick leave program, approves leave, and stimulates management-employee communications. Develop training plans based on approved training courses and regulatory requirements and supervises necessary training for guard personnel in the use of weapons, protection against espionage, sabotage, and other organized subversive actions. Evaluate guard personnel training performance based on standard operating procedures, regulations, and guidance. Plan assigned work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Conduct detail national crime information center review to determine access eligibilities.

Requirements

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility at the Secret level using a Tier 3 background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Employee and prospective employee of this job are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct; and when being considered for employment and periodically thereafter.
  • Drug testing designated position.
  • Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary.
  • Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
  • Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
  • Employee must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and must know first aid.
  • Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
  • Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state Drivers license.
  • Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform.
  • Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
  • Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
  • Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installations overall security response capability.
  • Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform Supervisory duties is required.
