About the Position: This position is located at the US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS AVIATION CO 160TH SPECIAL OPNS AVN REGIMENT REGIMENTAL S-3 FORT CAMPBELL, KY.
Duties
Exercise established rules, regulations, and legal authorities to enforce specialized personnel access procedures and detect trespassing violations.
Ensure the physical security of the building and property, to include the protection and safety of personnel.
Provide protection to VIP, to include General Officers, foreign dignitaries and high- ranking members of the Department of Defense.
Perform dispatcher duties involving passing of information and directions to other Officers on patrol assignments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- In accordance with AR 190-56, the incumbent must take a pass an initial and subsequent annual physical agility tests (PAT)
- Incumbent must pass all background checks and meet the criteria of the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Required to maintain proficiency, and qualify, in handgun use (testing conducted semi-annually).
- Incumbent must successfully complete all required Security Guard training. Required to attend re-certification training at a minimum every 12 months based on availability of schools and/or training.
- Incumbent must be willing to work rotating shifts.
- Employee and prospective employee of this job are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct.
- Must successfully complete an initial and subsequent annual cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certification.
- Required to wear a uniform, and maintain a high standard of appearance, grooming, and hygiene IAW AR 190-56.
- Position is adverse weather essential. Must report for duty during inclement weather.
- Position is designated Key/mission essential.
- Incumbent is required to undergo, and pass, an annual physical and mental examination, at Government expense.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations.
- This position requires the incumbent to maintain a current state driver's license.
- Incumbent is required to wear personal protective equipment, to include bullet proof vests, security/law enforcement equipment, and chemical/biological protection equipment.
- Incumbent must be assessed under the Individual Reliability Program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with working in a Federal, State, municipal, local or private organization that involves the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass. Maintaining order, protecting life, writing and reviewing incident reports and responding to emergency situations and security breaches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
