You will serve as a Inventory Management Officer in the NMCPAC CWD Detachment Indian Island, AD & C Traffic Branch (N42A112) of NAVMAG INDIAN ISLAND.

Duties

You will review management reports and listings as they apply to ordnance inventory accuracy. You will develop and initiate quality control checks to identify problems in various areas. You will investigate and research the nature and frequency of inventory adjustments. You will serve as an analyst and advisor to management on the evaluation of programs, operations and administrative issues. You will develop and advise on proposed reorganization or realignment of functions. You will develop manuals, standard operating procedures (SOP), and directives covering administrative aspects of ordnance operations.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing ordnance inventory records for accuracy by identifying problems and making recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiencies within an organization. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Education may substitute for specialized experience as follows:
Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree,
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree,
OR
Successful completion of LL.M., if related.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
