This position is located in the Deputy to the Chairman & Chief Operating Office, Human Resources Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of maintaining a sound Corporate classification program. Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for the CG-11 grade level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 9 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience updating and maintaining a position description library; utilizing Federal HR position classification standards; and assisting with classification position audits. OR EDUCATION:  a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related. OR  COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above and the specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. To qualify for the CG-12 grade level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience applying Federal HR position classification standards; conducting position audits; and preparing classification appeal decisions. To qualify for the CG-13 grade level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience interpreting and applying Federal HR position classification standards; conducting position audits; preparing classification appeal decisions; analyzing major reorganization proposals; and implementing new standards or job evaluation guidelines. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
