About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel. Work primarily consists of scheduling available patient appointments with the Primary Care Manager (PCM) or within their Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) according to currently accepted guidelines and benchmark standards for Call Centers.

Duties

Work primarily consists of scheduling available patient appointments with the Primary Care Manager (PCM) Use judgment when dealing with non-routine situations and defer to the supervisor as needed. Provide timely customer service in answering the telephones and scheduling appointments for patients enrolled to the MTF in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS)

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series and are subject to any required immunizations/testing.
  • Qualified Typist is Required.
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.

Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating patient appointments; receiving inquiries regarding medical benefits and care ; utilizing automated office software to create track and coordinate care and benefits. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer ServiceManages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Education:
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
