This position serves as the Deputy Executive Secretary, located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of the Executive Secretariat. The Office of the Executive Secretariat (OES) serves as a liaison between the Department of Justice's leadership offices and its components by overseeing the review and approval of official documents and coordinating the flow of information critical to rigorous decision making.

The duties and responsibilities of a Deputy Executive Secretary generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Directing the development and implementation of Department correspondence policies, business processes, automated and administrative systems, methods, and procedures that improve the flow of communications across the Department.
Overseeing the design, development, continuous improvement, and implementation of all OES programs.
Determining strategies for achieving OES programmatic objectives and analyzes problems requiring the development of creative and pioneering solutions.
Ensuring work is accomplished in accordance with established and emerging policy and practice.
Providing advice to the Executive Secretary and other senior Department leadership on sensitive and critical issues that may arise from the Department's policymaking, engagement, or outreach efforts.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31, 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Deputy Executive Secretary at (GS-0301-15), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: 1) Overseeing projects aimed at improving work processes, administrative services, or operations; 2) Recommending program goals, plans, policies, procedures, or work plans dealing with operations; and 3) Ensuring the success of one or more specific major programs or projects
