Duties

You will plan and schedules work assignments on a long range basis (e.g. 3-4 months) for accomplishment by the units supervised within schedules and priorities established by higher level supervision. You will analyze work schedules and determines manpower, tooling, material requirements and methods to be used. You will plan work assignments considering trades or other occupations involved; availability of manpower and equipment, deadlines, and other work projects for which responsible. You will establish a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in achieving management goals, and to promote efficient and economical work operations. You will Organizes, coordinates, and directs the work activities and personnel of the units supervised.

Requirements

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You may be recalled to duty outside of normal working hours.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You are required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any manner, Classified Information. to unauthorized persons.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Knowledge of management of facilities maintenance shops activities. Must have first-hand technical experience and technical expertise with supervision of facilities maintenance & operations of: Low and High Voltage Systems, Heating & cooling systems, Interior electrical systems, Interior plumbing systems Utility distribution systems to include: High voltage electrical Distribution (overhead and underground), Natural gas, Water, Steam, Sewer, Roads & grounds; Knowledge of USMC Maximo facilities database management system; Knowledge of USMC and NAVFAC Facilities Maintenance Management systems for controlling resources utilized for real property maintenance and repair; Knowledge of operations, equipment, and facility maintenance methods to manage and direct a variety of complex and diversified services that encompass technical and professional occupations; Knowledge of construction standards, methods, practices and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with regulations and standards; Knowledge of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds; Ability to plan and organize work, maintain good working relations, and communicate orally and in writing at a mid-level manager level; Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and develop results, and develop timely and economical solutions; Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward goal accomplishment. Leadership ability, including the ability to coach, mentor, and challenge subordinates; ability to adapt leadership style to a variety of situations; and ability to model high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individual by applying these values to daily behaviors; Knowledge of and ability to apply procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialize expertise in the work of the unit (such as Heating & Cooling, High Voltage, Plumbing, Grounds, Industrial Waste Treatment), including the ability to maintain credibility with others on technical matters.
