Duties
You will lead a team of three or more Maintenance Mechanics, Plumbers and Equipment Operators.
You will work along with other workers and setting the pace.
You will obtain needed information or decisions from supervisors on problem that come up during the work.
You will complete installation, modification and repair of various plumbing systems and equipment, e.g., replaces defective pipes, fittings, fixtures, and valves.
You will complete the routing and placement of systems leading to equipment, and properly sets, hooks up, and tests equipment.
You will makes periodic checks of assigned equipment, checking meters, shafts, bearings, motors, belts, turbines, electric pumps, etc.
You will check steam and airflow meters, fuel gas temperature recorders, gas or oil meters.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. You must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
- Must obtain and maintain Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste Worker training.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator's license from Garrison Mobile Equipment (GME) division, and uses forklift to move
drums, totes, and other equipment and materials, as needed in support of operations.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE. Example: Ability to lead assigned employees by utilizing knowledge, skills, and abilities in coordinating, coaching, facilitating, consensus building and planning techniques; Skilled Operator using a variety of heavy gasoline and diesel powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler type traction to perform fine grading on slopes, inclines, ramps, curves, and excavations; Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Operates motor vehicle up to 3/4 tons to carry tools and equipment. Operates fork lift and lift equipment. Performs normal operator preventive maintenance, fills out trip tickets, accident reports, etc. Incumbent is required to operate truck tractors with flatbed semi-trailers to transport heavy engineering equipment to job sites or for repair; Using GIS data, as-built drawings, and locating equipment, operator locates and marks water utility system components and distribution piping to support work of other employees and contractor requested dig permits.
