About the Position: Incumbent works with supervisor to establish schedules and define other aspects of work. The incumbent uses knowledge of the organization's programs, policies, procedures, precedents, and regulatory guidelines, and exercises independent judgment in carrying out the work.

Duties

Serves as the primary person for managing the branch project workload upward reporting to program/project managers Performs a variety of analyses and assessments in support of the missions. Compiles statistics and supporting analyses for use in the decision-making process for activities such as forecasting expenditures for the operating budget, assessing trends for direct and indirect charging, etc. Assists branch and section chiefs in conducting assessments of business functions, work processes, and/or procedures. Serves as backup to the Administrative Support Assistants duties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel/perform Temporary Duty (TDY) 25% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience for GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience coordinating workload for an office; AND 2) Experience maintaining time and attendance records for multiple employees; AND 3) Experience reviewing standard operating procedures for future use. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement for GS-7: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-6). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-8: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
