About the Position: Directs a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program for an assigned organization. Serves as a principal authority, strategic advisor, and advocate for SHARP policies and programs; develops strategic plans and policies to support response and prevention elements of the sexual harassment/assault program and conducts assessments to ensure policy/program effectiveness; prioritizes victim care in cases of SH/SA and associated retaliatory behaviors.
Duties
Assists the Lead Sexual Assault Response Coordinator in managing the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program.
Ensures the command's Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program comply with law's and regulations established by the United States Army.
Manages employees providing direct support to victims of sexual assault and harassment.
Utilizes statistical data to recommend changes to established Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program
Conducts case management activities by developing tools to accurately track sexual harassment and sexual assault case
Responds to restricted and unrestricted report of sexual assault and sexual harassment complaints
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Five years or more providing Sexual Assaults or Sexual Harassment advocacy services in the military or private sector is preferred.
- Background checks against all records as required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy and regulation will be conducted, prior to entering on duty in the position IAW governing regulations.
- Minimum of a Tier 3 background investigation, or equivalent, and enrollment in Continuous Vetting (CV) are required.
- Incumbents in these positions are required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors and security office.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.
- The incumbent will be required to maintain a 24/7 duty phone.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Must complete all required SHARP courses, obtain D-SAACP certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
- Within six months of employment must successfully complete required Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training and obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) certification
- The incumbent will be required to complete State Criminal History Repository checks for all states of residence in the past 5 years .

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes processing sexual harassment assault cases in accordance with regulatory procedures; coordinating the provision of care for victims through proactive support efforts; and implementing sexual harassment prevention activities to reduce retaliatory behaviors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
