This position is part of the Selective Service System. Along with the Director, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing long and short-range plans and projects, and serves as technical advisor on registration processing policies, programs and procedures.
Duties
Shares full responsibility with the Director for establishing long and short-range plans and projects.
Responsible for final review and approval of the financial and budget programs for submission to agency headquarters elements.
Serves as registration processing subject matter expert of major studies and/or projects directed by headquarters that impact the agency's mission, programs and operations.
Exercises the full range of personnel management responsibilities directly and through subordinate supervisors.
Qualifications
At the GS-14 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include experience developing standard operating procedures to implement directives to ensure complete coverage of all facets of the program area; and resolving problems by maintaining management-employee communications; and establishing program goals, performance standards and internal controls to ensure that activities meet established national objectives and priorities.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at this series/grade level.
